Does anyone know where my friend and I (he is 19, I am 18) can find average to slightly above-average houses or apartments? Most google searches present us only with luxury resorts and the like. We are coming to Costa Rica to teach English and would prefer something to rent in the $300-$800 CDN range. Thanks in advance:)

I’m sure Canada has rules about people from Central American countries flying into their country and working as teachers so I hope for your sake that you are coming here to teach/work legally.

what area are you interested in?
we have a 2bd/2bath condo in coco (playa del coco, guanacaste ) that may be available soon and i may be able to assist you in that range.
Scott can provide you with my email and i can share the details if you are interested.
We live in toronto, and will be visiting coco during the Christmas break.

It will available to rent in Nov/Dec 2008. I have pictures that I could email you. We are asking 230,000 colones/month or approximately 570-580 Canadian Dollars/month. I am assuming CDN stands for Canadian Dollars. I was not able to find which denomination was CDN.
PS: I hope this reply is not considered a “commercial post” as I am replying to a post and did not originate this thread.October 29, 2008 at 12:03 pm #193019AndrewKeymasterFYI – We do have a rentals Rentals section (including a couple in Grecia) on this site at [ https://www.welovecostarica.com/public/department53.cfm ]
One must pay to have your rental featured – one of the very few things that you do have to pay for in supporting WeLoveCostaRica.com – but I think you’ll find if you are offering a quality rental, it’s very much worth it …

“Scott provides a great service listing a good selection of rentals in Costa Rica… I have stayed in two of the five properties on the list and have inspected the #2 listing. They all fill a different need. The two properties I rented for two months each were wonderful.
I would have never found either one of these properties on my own. Thanks Scott for providing such a great source of information about Costa Rica.” Jerry Minchey. USA
