BN closed our bank account for a non trading company as it had not been active for 6 months!
So we requested that they reopen it for us – simple???? Oh no not in Costa Rica. We have to revisit our lawyer and get an official (stamped don’t forget) document stating that the company is still around. BN said its because the company is too old – 6 years!
So we decided to try BCR – Well they say we need to have a lawyers letter (stamped don’t forget) stating again our relevant shares in the non trading company, plus a letter from an accountant projecting future trading (non trading?) plus proof of monthly incoming monies despite our statement that it would only be cash paid into the account – no still not interested.
Does anyone know if a non trading company has to have a bank account?
It’s probably safe to assume that you will need to make sure that the corporate taxes are up to date too…
