Anyone interested in purchasing property or making investments in Costa Rica PLEASE do your due diligence. I recently came across this website: http://www.higherlifeestatesinc.com/

They claim 50% return on your investment in 3 years. If it sounds too good to be true it may be.

One of the partners on the project has business ties with a Florida lawyer who was just sentenced to 6 years in prison for fraud, some of which was in Costa Rica.

Please be careful everyone. Costa Rica is a wonderful place but unfortunately there are scammers everywhere.

Thank you for keeping your eyes open.

Although they have a link on their site to an article on my website, its important to know that I NOT know the people involved and although it’s possible, I would agree that it certainly sounds to good to be true.

I can’t stress enough how important it is to perform a thorough due diligence when investing in any project, no matter where it is. We have seen Paragon Properties and Hacienda Matapalo scam people out of their money. There seems to be quite a few scammers from Florida operating in Costa Rica. Let’s not have a scam in Esterillos Este. If anyone uncovers anything about Higher Life Estates Inc please keep us all informed so that everyone can make well informed decisions. Those of us who live in Costa Rica want to keep it a great place.

So, I decided to call the numbers on the site, not knowing what I would say if someone picked up the phone.

    Higher Life Estates Inc
    (209) 691-LIFE (5433) North America (USA)
    (519) 676-4536 North America (Canada)
    (506) 8524-1706 Central America (Costa Rica)

The first number is located in Escalon in California, zip code 95320.
I got a recording that directed me to leave a message or call 506-8524-1706 (the last number on the website)

The second number is a tied to MobiXtream (http://www.mobixtream.com) but the message when called says “Bell Canada, this number has been disconnected.”

The third number is a Costa Rica cellular number. I tried several times but it was busy. Maybe this is the main business line and they are very busy with potential investors?

Just some info for everyone. If anyone else can get through to (506)8524-1706 please let us all know what you find out about this project.

    Thanks.
