Just a heads up – when we arrived at Liberia with our two dogs the “official” in charge demanded a $40 fee to “process the paperwork” before releasing the dogs. There is no such fee but we paid just to get out of there.
In San Jose there is a very nice hotel that allows pets –
Villa del Rio, email address: villasdelrio.com, while we usually only spend one night it is an extended stay hotel.
