It it legal for an artist or craftsman to sell their own work in CR? Could one open a gallery or furniture store of their own works and perhaps other locals.
Not sure if that would be considered as ‘working’ in Costa Rica but to open a gallery, you would need to form Costa Rica corporation, have rental agreements, hire an attorney, accountant, hire sales staff, cleaning lady, become familar with Costa Rica labor laws, Costa Rica sales taxes, Costa Rica income taxes, social security payments for employees…
There are a thousand and one complications in starting up a gallery or a business in the US and there’s a few here too… If you are willing to put in the work, I’m sure it can be done but I have no idea whether
it would be worth it or not…
