Now that we have residency, we were wondering how we find out which medications are covered by CAJA. There must be a list somewhere…..
Registered VIP Members can see the 305 page 2014 .pdf list of medications available in the Caja – la Lista Oficial De Medicamentos (LOM) – in Spanish in the Download Library at: [ https://www.welovecostarica.com/snip/211.htm ]
Hope that helps.

WOW A terrific help. Thanks Scott
Just because a medication is on this list…doesn’t guarantee that CAJA has it or will provide it, as we found out. They much prefer to prescribe the generic version.
A doctor told us that some are no longer carried but may not be eliminated from the list, for many reasons.
