If someone was interested in bringing US$ into CR, what would the best currency be to leave it in?
For years it was US$, but some say now is the time to switch to Colones.
Any thoughtful input?
Alberto
I would suggest that unless you are speaking of moving millions of US dollars to Costa Rica (which I would not advise) that you save yourself a headache and leave worrying about short-term currency fluctuations to currency traders.
Puravida maje!

Sorry, didn’t mean to offend you.
I was just interested in bringing retirement funds into CR and wondered if it should go into a US$ account or Colones.
You did not and I was not meaning to be rude in any way. If you are coming from the USA, wou will need BOTH US$ and colones accounts anyway – that’s easy to do. Should you wish to establish a Euro account there and more and more banks that can help you do that too…
