Hi CR experts,
I just received my letter from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) stating the following:
“To whom it may concern:
Our records reflect that CWO2 Kelvin Owen, USA (Retired) is on the Retired Retainer rolls of this Center and is currently in receipt of retired pay in the gross monthly amount of $X,XXX.XX. This is normally a lifetime entitlement.
Should you have any further questions, please . . . . . .”
My question is this; will this letter suffice as the required certification of income to submit with your Pensionado residency package?
Thank you in advance
I am not XXX% sure if $X,XXX.XX will be enough kelvinowenscr 🙂 but you should check with a qualified immigration/residency attorney about this…

Too, I think your award letter will require some sort of authentication by the U.S. government. Again, your knowledgeable residency attorney will have the details.
Nope. It probably won’t work for Immigration unless it has specific wording that says that:
1. You’ll receive the required amount (or greater)
2. It is guaranteed for life (Pensionado) or 5 yr. (Rentista)
3. If a change occurs they will alert Immigration in C.R.
4. Signed by an executive (mgr or higher)
5. It is notarized and authenticated (2 separate steps)
The good news is that others have gotten an acceptable letter, and I hope they’ll post.
