Charlie’s article hit the nail on the head. As usual we show these guys all the respect in the world because they’ve got big $$$ so this dude flies to Costa Rica on his own private jet costing gazillion$ – who gives a damn? And we need to look real hard at why we – the USA – is giving the Saudis billions of dollars and who they are giving their money to and who they are supporting?

Am I the only other angry American here? Isn’t about time we all got a bit p***** at what’s going on and how much of our money is being thrown away? Take a look at the news, we’re in some serious financial trouble right now and it’s not looking pretty for the future of my kids and their kids.

Hmm! I figured if there was a VIP Member that would like that article – you would Bradbard.

Must admit in editing that article (), it’s difficult to argue with the data he comes up with.

I’m not American but I am bloody angry at what’s going on too … If I die tomorrow, I will take solace in the fact that I have had a very rich life, that I have lived and loved in a lot of different places but, I would also like to think – as you do – that my two children have a healthy and fulfilling life ahead of them and looking at what’s going on in the world today – that’s not easy.

I spend a few months of the year in the US and the rest in CR and I’m hearing more angry people too but I see that as something good because up until now those people were keeping their mouths shut.

Maybe it’s just in the midwest but even though the people we know agree with us, they are fearful of saying things out loud. It’s kind of like we imagine the Soviet Union being years go with the KGB when they was scared in case someone reports what they said to someone in power and now with more surveillance approved in the US we’re getting more like Russia and the KGB time every day

    Maybe it’s just too late?

    Terry,
The cows won a long time ago, it as just become apparent to some recently. The INTERNET gave us a tool to finally spread the word about what is happening but all that happened was porn, we loose again. You can’t tell the truth because those with money will take you out. Slam dunk!

As North Americans, we have been conditioned to expect that we will be taken care of by the government that has taken our tax dollars for many years and the local police department, the insurance companies, doctors, lawyers and family. The reality of this implied security is that you are on your own when something really serious occurs. The government doles out as little as possible to social security and medicaid recipients and is betting on the fact that a large percentage of retirees die before they will ever exhaust their anticipated benefits. Your insurance company is always looking for the fine print to limit what benefits they will provide for you. Who prepares the contracts that protect the insurance companies and lenders that you have become accustomed to paying fees and interest to for so many years? The lawyers, and they need to charge massive fee’s to maintain their yuppie lifestyles and expensive liability insurance policies. Your doctors will not provide any services without your insurance information or credit card number. And if you need a serious medical procedure, you will be forced to sign a waiver so that in the event the doctor makes a mistake, you and your family have no recourse. The bottom line is that you are on your own. So why not try CR as soon as you can get away from the North American rat race. Take the plunge and rent a place down here for as long as you can sustain yourself and see what happens. You can easily go back if you don’t like it down here.

I came through Houston last week on my way back from Costa Rica. I was muttering under my breath about how far it was to the gate (at least 1/3 of a mile) and I had already hoofed at least a mile and a half through that airport and I only had 45 minutes between flights. I was frazzled trying to get to the next gate, so what I was muttering wasn’t very ladylike, but as soon as the words left my lips it was as though they were amplified, which I thought was a little weird. But as I approached the gate, I saw a sign overhead that read: AUDIO AND VISUAL SURVEILLANCE IS USED IN THIS AIRPORT. So be careful what you say. They really ARE listening.
