Since CR is the recipient of a lot of financial aid from China, I wonder if the announcement that China is widening the yuan’s fluctuation band against the US dollar, will effect the CR economy ?

hi crhomebuilder,
since i can’t read spanish i can’t interpret the article.
I am in the states and may be looking to get out! 🙂
could you please tell me the currency in CR? Is there a Chinese bank there to get/use Yuan?
thanks.
Costa Rica’s domestic currency is the Costa Rican colon. The exchange rate against the U.S. dollar and the euro varies from day to day but for the past year and a half or so, it has hovered right around $1US = c500.
As for Chinese yuan, I can’t help.
I have not seen any publicity about the opening of a Chinese bank in CR and I imagine it would be difficult to locate any place here that would exchange that currency. Perhaps some of the more financially savvy members know more about this subject.
