June 20, 2006 at 10:11 am #176992DavidCMurrayParticipantI can’t offer an opinion about Mr. Howard’s tours; however, last year I took George Lundquist’s tour of the Central Valley for those thinking of moving here, and I can endorse it without reservation. You can Google search “George Lundquist” and find his website. George tells me he’s just obtained a much more accommodating bus, and I think I know that his price has actually come down a little.
June 20, 2006 at 1:07 pm #176993AndrewKeymasterI know George well and like him a lot… His website is at http://www.costaricearetireonss.com and he boasts of offering tours for the “non-rich.”
Too many people believe that Costa Rica is “expensive” but it’s as expensive as you want it to be. You don’t need to buy a $500K home to be comfortable and George built his lovely home for about $100K if I remember rightly and he’ll tell you that he’s never been happier.
If you ‘search’ for George Lundquist on this site, you’ll see a few articles written by him and see the new home that he has for sale.

June 20, 2006 at 2:45 pm #176996maravillaMemberIt was all an accident, I swear. He brought his tour group to Angel Valley Farm and took them up to see Jose’s house. The next thing I knew they were touring my house and I was giving a spiel about how to build for little money! Then he asked if he could just put the house on his tour so I said yes. You’re welcome anytime when I get down there, which I hope is soon.
June 20, 2006 at 4:04 pm #176997dhsbookerMemberMaravilla,
Is George going to post some pictures of your house on his webshots page? I would love to see it! I have been faithfully reading Andrew’s blog and also the one by JustJen whose family just recently moved to the San Ramon area. It looks like everyone at some point in time have stayed at Angel Valley B&B. All those blogs and pictures are what keep me going till we come down in Oct.(Hopefully you will be there)! We are going to meet with both Ben and Jose when we are there. We will be looking at Ben’s Rio de Jesus property and at Jose’s Butterfly Dance. (Both were a little lower elevation that we are looking for) Good luck on selling that house. We have both of our rental properties up for sale and the market is very SLOW here as well!
DebbieJune 21, 2006 at 11:26 am #176998jussijorgMemberThank you, very intersting but this man make money when people on his tours buy real state yes?
I ask becase Howard say no on his site but many people I speak at say yes definitaly he make big commishuns?
June 21, 2006 at 12:16 pm #176999maravillaMemberAnd if he IS making a commission, it isn’t very much. George told me he doesn’t make one though, so who knows? Bottomline is that you can’t force someone to buy property they don’t like.

The link is http://www.travelblog.org, as I went into it just now the site seems to be down. But, you can seach several blogs from different areas of CR. The 2 that I mentioned are both from the San Ramon area. I have seen Tim’s and yes it does have a lot of info.
DebbieJune 25, 2006 at 2:07 pm #177001jregoMemberThanks Debbie, I did manage to get into the travel blog site using http://travelblog.com/ I believe this is the same site you posted above.
James.June 25, 2006 at 5:52 pm #177002dhsbookerMemberJames, that isnt the correct one. It is .org and not .com. Try this I jusy got in http://www.travelblog.org/Central-America-Caribbean/Costa-Rica, but ther is still a problem with the site today.
