I am interested in the Jaco beach CONCASA project. I will be visiting CR in the third week in February and would like to look with the intention of buying a one bedroom.

My question is does anyone (perhaps Scott can reply to me) know if the prices will go up by then. Perhaps an earlier trip is in order? I have a ceiling of about 135K to spend. I can also wait a few years for construction to be completed, so perhaps there is an early buy in price that they have available.

Also, is there any other more affordable 1-2 bedroom apartment/flats available that is in walking distance or a short bus ride to the beach on the Western Coastline?

The 2 properties I own in the US have been fixer uppers and so I am not afraid to get my hands dirty. Since I will not be living in CR for much of the time out of year and consider it a long term investment, my greatest concern is not being vandalized.

Sorry to say this but I would be very surprised if CONCASA will have any apartments available in Jaco by February 2007 and would also not be surprised if they increase their prices again before that time.

If you do decided to visit Costa Rica before then, fly into San Jose and they’ll arrange to have someone pick you up and take you to see their project here where they have finished eight (I think) buildings so that you get a clear idea of the type of apartments that they will be building in Jaco.

All you need to do is to visit the article at and fill in the form and someone will contact you

PS. CONCASA makes buying the apartments quite easy… Reserve the aprtment with US$1,000 then when you sign the agreement (within a month normally), they would require 30% down however, you can spread this 30% downpayment out over 12 monthly payments. The balance would be due upon delivery.

Thanks Scott for your reply.. I really think this website is great.

I was wondering if you could recommend a real estate agent that can show me 1-2 bedroom apartments in and around the Liberia beach region that are not associated to a new development?

    thanks,

    Steve

I do have a couple of people up there but I’m not too clear on what you want so will email you privately ….
