Not being familiar with CR law, I am hoping someone could answer a question regarding building warranties. Are general contractors required to provide written warrantees for the work they perform? I was told that new home builders must provide a 12 month warrantee on their work, but I am not certain if the same would apply to a developer for site infrastructure construction within a new development.
It’s reassuring to know that a cracked wall would have to be repaired within a specified time frame, but when the drinking water stops running or the new paver road is washed away, who is ultimately responsible?

Trust me they don’t exist in Costa Rica… Once they get paid adios unless they know other work is a coming.
You control the work with holding back money.
Guarantees are respected more when it comes to buying condos in a gated community but other than that… You’re really on your own after the job is completed.
