There have been older messages that have been posted about this developer. Does anyone have any new information about Costa Montana, Estrillos (spelling) or the new site Reserva? The comments in the past seem to be on the positive side. Any comments would be appreciated.

I’ve certainly never made any positive comments about this company or the people behind it but in answer to your question, I have not heard anything new about them.

If you are considering purchasing there. There are alot better deals from resales then you can get from the developer. Don’t give them money to see the lots. Find a local Realtor that can show you everything.

When you talk about resales, I’m thinking that you are talking about a property that have already been developed (dwelling exists). I am thinking of purchasing a lot and sitting on it for a few years. I would think that a lot of land in a developing “community” would be more protected (squatters) than just buying any lot that is offered.

You might want to check out [ https://www.welovecostarica.com/public/2335.cfm ] which I am working on right now… The article has not officially been published yet but with ocean view lots from $49K – $199K there’s has to be something there for jamesgoshen4

Costa Developers is probably one of the best developers in the Central Pacific area. Compare to Paragon Properties – shut down, Las Lomas – shut down and Cabo Calettas – shut down, all nearby who talked a big story and produced nothing. Unlike many others, CostaD have done what they promised in Costa Montana and Costa Esterillos and continue to do so in Reserva. Just go take a look. Take a drive through hilly Costa Esterillos which is just about complete. It is truly beautiful with all 10km. (approx) of interior roads completely finished with pavers, street lights in place and proper concrete bridges built over streams. Infrastructure in Reserva is being built as we speak in the same format as Esterillos.. Owners will also soon have a beach club with services next to the ocean.
CostaD does most of their selling direct and so local real estate brokers probably are not too happy as they can do better elsewhere. I do agree with Lisle55 about the up front deposit money but I know that this is done not to waste time (and money) with tire kickers. He is also correct that a buyer is free to use a local broker for the Costa properties.
I bought 2 lots a couple of years ago and have just finished building a beautiful home on the one in Esterillos. After this expense and with the economy as it is, we have decided to sell our 1.25 acre second lot in phase one of Costa Reserva at a price considerably less than dealing direct with CostaD. If jamesgoshen4 is interested in a great deal in a first class development. Please note that the above reference about Costa Developers was not written to promote the sale of this second lot.He should follow up on the CostaD property.

I have a couple of lots for sale also. I love the location and layout of The Reserva.

Yes I’m being objective as I have experienced what I have described and have seen most of the other developments in the area to compare against the Costa properties. I am as objective as you are when you recommend specific real estate brokers on your recommended broker list and then you feature their listings on you website.. Also interesting, I have never seen you reveal a subscriber’s name to your readers.

    Hey Can Adian,

Scott outed me a while back and revealed my name too! Seems he didn’t believe my name was Jim Nasium. LOL

I would have to agree with Pollo. Costa Developers have turned out to be alright. I don’t agree with there sales tactics but the Esterillos Project is complete and that is hard to say around this area. The Montana one I still wouldn’t touch as it is steep and has problems with the road systems. If you are looking for a place to retire or have as as second home in the next 5 to 10 years it is a good option. I wouldn’t be purchasing a lot with the intention of selling in a few years for a profit as there is too many lots to compete with being 400 plus lots in the community. With that said I wouldn’t purchase from the developers has there are many lots on the market way below the price that the developers are offering.

It is clearly against this sites policy to make commercial posts. You talk about being fair and honest in your posting, then take the low road.

Take a Valium. I’m just an ordinary VIP member that has a lot for sale. Aren’t us VIP members supposed to help each other out? It isn’t like I’m peddling for Paragon Prop.
What the hell are you talking about anyway….fair and honest…low road?

“Remember that ‘commercial posts’ where someone is obviously trying to promote or sell something, are not allowed and will be deleted by one of our three Costa Rica Living Discussion Forum Moderators.”

Predictable response. Break the rules and some how try and rationalize they don’t apply to you. Why not just be honest about it? No need to get defensive, just be honest with us and yourself. Let me guess; this will make you even more hostile?

Kimball: I must admit I confused your response with OP. But sneaking in a commercial post is still, um…sneaky.
