I am interested in buying lots here and while I am awaiting my attorneys checking this deal out they are using this pressure technique by calling and sending an e-mail that price of land will go up on the same lots in negotiations after 15th July!!!!!!! If they are so hot why call me almost on daily basis to buy? I told them I am not that desperate that after hiring an attorney I would not wait for his advise.
July 10, 2006 at 3:22 pm #177367AndrewKeymasterThey call you on a daily basis because they want to make a commission obviously… They have to have a “sense of urgency” to encourage you to make a decision.
Wait for the information from your attorney and do NOT be rushed into making a decision by any sales person.
I did have a posting in this forum about this group but accidentally deleted it – do you have that?

WeLoveCostaRica.comPS. The confusion that I have seen is that many people confuse ‘Costa Developers’ with ‘Costa Land Developers’ and if I understand correctly, they are both completely different and unrelated companies.
If someone from either company is reading this, please do confirm that this is the case.
July 23, 2006 at 6:57 am #177368gatormanMemberHi there, I’m also looking to buy a lot in Costa Esterillos, but I’m not sure if this is a legitamate company or not, they have spent time with me on the phone, and are now also calling me on a daily basis to get me send in the deposit money. However, I have not seen real property or seen anyone in person. They just ask me to send them $30,000 as a deposit to an escrow account and then go look at the property in Costa Rica. If I like it, thats my down payment if I don’t then they say they will fully refund me. What do you guys think? Is this a reputable company to trust? Has anyone seen this development community going up now Costa Esterillos near Jaco?
July 24, 2006 at 12:00 pm #177369Gr1ng0T1c0MemberC’mon Gatorman. If you fall for that you’d have to change your name to GullibleMan. $30K, sight unseen, over the phone, in a country where international criminals find safe haven?
Send me $60,000 and I’ll tell you more…
July 24, 2006 at 1:23 pm #177370*LotusMemberI have to second that…at the very least you have to go down and look at the site first.
July 24, 2006 at 1:29 pm #177371maravillaMemberAnd I’ll third that — Gatorman, you stated you’re not even sure if this is a legitimate company and yet you want to funnel them thirty big ones? On the other hand, property is running out in Costa Rica, so if you want to get in on the big land grab, you’d better send off your shekels right away while there’s still some land to be had.
July 24, 2006 at 9:24 pm #177372DavidCMurrayParticipantGringoTico is way, way overpriced. I’ll make you the same deal for $15,000. Contact me by e-mail and I’ll give you my Cayman Islands bank account and routing numbers . . .

August 4, 2006 at 5:51 pm #177374neraMemberJust returned from CR last week and toured Costa Esterillos site with one of their sales staff. The project was recently just started and therefore very little infersteructure has been built to date. Your correct in saying that Costa Developers Marketing does run a “boiler room” type sales office in the states however, their San Jose staff consisting of civil engineers, attornys and sales personal appear to be upfront individuals determined to complete both of these projects as planned.
I have also done some investigation, and aside from a CEO that has had legal problems in the past, everything thing about this project checks out. If completed as planned, Costa Esterillos will be a premeire community that could appreciate in value 2 fold once completed. The big question is, will they complete this development? I’m betting yes and thus purchased a couple of lots myself. Like with most pre development projects there always is a chance that something could go wrong but in this case I believe the odds are in my favor. A word of advise, before signing any sales agreement, have your own attorny read the fine print because a few changes will be in order.
