We have a lot in Palo Seco and are waiting for our concession. We want to be proactive and have a home design and builder lined up, so we can start immediately after concession granted. We would welcome any comments, ideas, suggestions, as well as any names of builders/architects. We are hoping to perhaps find a builder with an architect on board, and we do need at least one person with a reasonable grasp of English, since at this point, we are unable to speak Spanish (but starting to work at it)…….ideas/suggestions/comments/references are welcome…..we are coming down in the middle of August and hope to line up some appointments

Try RDS Construction http://www.rdscostarica.com Contact: Victor Salazar, Project Manager (fluent in English) 506 667 0931 in Costa Rica. RDS is just completing a large 8 floor luxury condo project at Jaco (next to the Holiday Inn) and they have many projects underway in the Nosara area. They are also affiliated with a drywall company. We are in the process of starting the construction of our home using RDS. After talking to many builders, we selected RDS for their innovative and technically competent engineering and construction staff. They are likely not the cheapest builder in CR, but after checking their references and viewing their completed projects they do have the capability to build a fine house on schedule.
Good luck with your project.

I can say he is a reputable and honest man. I spoke with him recently and he was available. His english is very limited but his assistant is fluent. If you are interested, I can contact him for you, let me know . I’ll keep the notify on.

July 18, 2007 at 7:12 pm #185278CharlieMemberHernan Jimenez and his partner Joanna Cruz can be reached at arquieco@gmail.com. Cell number is 388-6943 for Joanna. They do ecologically friendly designs and also offer landscape design in a manner that protects the environment. Let them know Charlie Quesada referred. I do not get paid , he is a long time tenant of our property complex.

July 23, 2007 at 11:04 am #185280MinuitMemberHello mrWoody,
Just curious to know how is your concession process doing ? It could take a while before you have all the permits to build in Palo Seco.
Besides, I have a friend who has been living in the area for the last 15 years. She helps people with all the paperworks, she can help you with a local constructor, architect, she can supervise your construction for you if you cannot be there all the time during the process.
She speaks french, english and spanish. You can write and ask for more information at
marietta234@yahoo.es or call at 506-778-8408

JoJuly 23, 2007 at 2:12 pm #185281mrwoody20MemberThank-you for the info – I will email her – how do you know her ??
Not sure how fast for the concession, have someone working on it, and have heard that it may be possible in the next few months – but I know that it may not happen that quickly – but in the meantime, I do want to have all my information in order, so that once it is granted, I can begin right away…..thanksJuly 24, 2007 at 10:04 am #185282MinuitMemberHello, I met Mariette when she was the owner of Pelican, a little hotel in Esterillos. She sold a few years ago, and since then, she has been helping friends and former clients to buy or rent in the area. She has been a huge help for me when I bought in Palo Seco.
Speaking of which, I have heard for months(years) that the concessions would be granted within a few weeks. Can’t wait to build my dreeeeem home too…but one learns to be patient here verdad !!!! So welcome neighbor, and cheers to the day we will have a frozen Imperial on OUR beach !!!!!
Hasta Luego
