January 22, 2006 at 1:19 pm #174397AndrewKeymasterTake a look at my friend and attorney Jose Rafael Fernandez – Costa Rica Title Search for US$99
He’s making no money on the deal but, he is hoping that after the title search that maybe you will work with hgim to form your corporation if needed and other Costa Rica legal matters

January 23, 2006 at 5:29 pm #174398AndrewKeymasterWith so much ‘confusion’ around about some Costa Rica real estate developers, I am seriously thinking about building a whole new section of this site to feature experienced, proven real estate developers in Costa Rica. Developers that I and my attorneys will personally check out to verify that everything is legit’…
What do you think of that idea?

Sounds like a good idea. Just got off the phone with the director of the project in question. He sent, with no hesitation, me an e-mail copy of the title to the land, so I guess the next step would be to contact your attorney friend? Is there any way to pay someone to go look at the property?

January 24, 2006 at 12:38 pm #174401chicmacMemberSounds like a plan. There are far too many people in Costa Rica who are building homes who have no knowledge or experience of construction and this may not show immediately but it WILL show within a few years. The people I know are telling me that there is a shortage of talented and conscientious laborers and developers are hiring any warm body to do stuff. But what information would you provide us that we would not be able to find ourselves?
January 30, 2006 at 11:33 am #174402dkt2uMemberAll I will say is be very wary of Worldwide Land Investments. There is quite a bit of information on them if you search hard enough and a lot of it doesn’t ad up. They seem to be a high pressure sales type of operation and are constantly vague on giving you detailed information. Does it strike anyone funny that the only picture they have of there supposed new development is a satellite picture from 225 miles up? I can forward some of the information to you if you’d like.

I got in email two plot maps with longitude and latitude on each, and when I entered it in mapquest.com, I got conflicting results. Land marked as being in one province ended up being in the second one and vice versa. I requested explanation – let’s see what happens.
