Hello,
Planning on coming from the US to Costa Rica (or any foreign country) I am aware one has to be aware of those prowling for fooling, naive gringowannabes. I have seen info on various relocation specialists, one of which I just saw calls itself “Guardian Angel Relocation Specialists.” I know the name makes me feel kinda warm & fuzzy but does anyone know anything about this service? (if you need to remove the name, that’s fine…I guess I wonder if these services are worth the time &/or money)December 7, 2006 at 11:52 am #180253AndrewKeymasterI remember the ‘Guardian Angels’ from New York City and the first image that springs to mind is an angelic looking woman with an Uzi sub-machine pistol at her side … 🙂
But seriously, I have not heard anything about this company, do not know anybody that has used them and do not know what they offer at what price.
You will find over 1,000 articles on this site which will answer most of the questions that you might have about moving to Costa Rica and of course it’s all free.

That put their founder, Curtis Malewah (I think) at a serious tactical disadvantage the night he was shot to death. I think the angelic woman with the Uzi is a movie promo that obviously made a stronger impression on you.

Curtis Sliwa is very much alive; he was shot in 1992 while riding in a cab. He also hosted a morning show in New York City.

I lived in New York City at the time Sliwa was shot and vaguely remember the news but yes! He is very much alive

My husband and I have had the most posative experience with a guy from Texas named George Lundquist. His website is “www.costaricaretireonss.com”. I believe there is a short video clip on this website of George talking about his experiences here and about his tour.
We took a private tour with George, March of this year, and came back in November for a month and bought property with his help.
He is a incrediable wealth of knowledge about relocating to Costa Rica and I highly reccomend you take his tour.

Visit the website for more direct info about their services: http://www.guardianangelscr.com. Their emphasis is on helping folks navigate all the confusing matters that must be taken care of after one relocates – opening bank accounts, getting a phone hooked up, and so on and so on. The goal is to help eliminate stress at a time when there is plenty of stress just from the act of moving to CR.
