I know the Banks are refusing to accept certain US $100 bills due to the fact that some have been conterfeited. Does Anyone know which series this is?
It’s the CB series and has been for the last year or so. Whenever I come down with large sums of cash I make sure the bank has culled all the bills with that letter combo. It also applies to $50 and $20.
Thanks Maravilla.
When are you coming down with large sums again?????
But seriously, I appreciate that info. Can save carrying a few hundred in unusable bills around downtown.
As I keep telling my contractor (now that my house is done) “estoy pobra y loca”! So I won’t be coming down with large wads of cash anytime soon!
I was at MasXMenos last week, and I was low on colones, so I pulled out a twenty, well the cashier called a Manager over because there was a very tiny little rip on the edge. I had to give them another bill. So they’re really looking them over
They look over ALL the money — even colones in denominations of 5000+. I guess there is a lot of counterfeiting going on in CA.
