Anyone know if it is esay to buy gold or silver coins in Costa Rica?
Stan
I have non-US investment clients who have purchased physical gold by the ounce which is physically held in their bank in Zurich as part of their portfolio – clearly they have done extremely well recently but I do not know of anyone who sells quality gold and silver coins here.
Verification of the quality, purity and exact gold & silver content of these coins would be crucial to their value and I am not sure I would feel comfortable with whatever verification or classification system that they have here in Costa Rica and sorry but “trust me” would not be good enough.

Since I am a US citizen you suggest is to open an account from a reputable business here in the USA and just wire money up? Open an account at everbank .com and wire the money to the bank to buy gold. It is FDIC insured
Thanks

You are confusing me…. “open an account from a reputable business here in the USA and just wire money up?”
Please clarify!
Gold as a commodity is not available in Costa Rica. In the US you can only buy coins or stock. You have to go to Canada to buy bullion
