When we go to the beach from San Jose, we would like to take our dogs with us on public transportation ;ie Taxis or vans. Is this possible? Bob
With a taxi or a private driver, I would guess that it’s open to negotiation and not at all difficult to arrange.
I do NOT know what the official policy is on buses – I would guess they are not allowed – but we should remember that a big percentage of Ticos and people from Niacaragua are scared of dogs so even if you are allowed to take your pet on the bus, the looks from your fellow passengers – unless the dogs are in a proper carry case – might make you feel uncomfortable.
