Can someone please give me the current residential and commercial rates for both energy used and the demand charge? Thank you.
Apparently ICE does not provide any document explaining the rates for either residential or commercial usage.
I can tell you that we are paying $.16 per KWH for 889 KW per month for our residence. I do know that the more you use the higher the rate and our usage is quite high.
Can anyone add with the prices that they are paying?
Costs vary throughout the country.
We paid this past month 82.706 colones, per kwh and we use very little electricity per month.
I pay around $ 60 for electricity.
No A/C necessary at Lake Arenal 😀
ARESEP [ http://www.aresep.go.cr/ ] regulates the prices for most public services but their website is less than useless.
You can see the CNFL ‘tarifas residenciales’ at [ https://cnfl.go.cr/index.php/tarifa-residencial ]. As has been mentioned, these rates depend on the electricity provider.

A good term to search for would be: “tariffs de electricidad residencial en costa rica”
