Can anyone tell me anything about bilingual schooling for my 5 year old in the Quepos M/A area? What about Health care and starting a business in the area? We were there last year and fell in love w/ the area. Seems like a great place to relocate and raise our son. Any advice….?

We are planning on relocating near Quepos. I have been working on finding schools for my children. There is a private school located at Paquita, 400 metros al este del lubricntro sur Quepos. Their web site is or infor@colegiodelfines.com. It is pre-school-10th grade. There phone number is 506-344-2990. We might just let our children go to the public school and supplement with a home school program. Make sure you check out all the Costa Rica requirements for you and your family before making the move. It takes some time. Hope this helps.

Quepos used to be a little rough around the edges. There is a new marina there, which I hear has started to tranform things somewhat. Any major purchase or health care would be in San Isidro. Dominical is very popular these days and in closer proximity to San Isidro. Looks like the new road between Manuel Antonio and Dominical is under way. 5 years ago it was a pond filled, 4WD track in the wet season with the biggest bats I have ever seen.March 10, 2009 at 8:42 pm #195303alempelMemberPaul Please tell me more about the “requirements for me and my family” Am I missing something ?
March 11, 2009 at 3:17 am #195304PauldthomasMemberI was wondering if you have checked into getting your residency, school costs, housing costs, moving costs, medical care and more. Whatever it takes to move to Costa Rica for your family. This is what I was referring too, when I wrote requirements.

If you like that life style, it is a very popular place. We have many American friends living there year round, and they don’t seem to need to drive to San Isidro for anything. Because of the influx of foreigners, businesses have catered to that market. You would be better served to drive to Jaco and Maxi Bodega than Dominical.
There is a large hospital and any number of pharmacies in Quepos. Why drive 2 hours through 15km of potholes? -
