USA vs. Costa Rica – the game that should not have been played.
Temp. -2C, windy, white field with 3cm of snow [ball was yellow/black] heavy snow falling. Shoveling off the sidelines every 15 minutes.
USA, winning 1-0, had an extra player on the field: La Nieve. I’m betting most of the Ticos had never even seen snow before. Very unfair.[quote=”pharg”]USA vs. Costa Rica – the game that should not have been played.
Having been played, it should not count. FIFA could nullify the result.
NOt even Scots, Scandinavians, or Russians play in those conditions. I thought that FIFA was going to call it off when they stopped for snow clearance in the second half. The Costa Rican players were valiant! They outplayed the other team in the second half. Unfortunately, only the ball behind the (invisible) line counts.
