We want to buy a propertie in Puerto Viejo, Caribbean Coast and we are looking for a lawyer.
Is there someone how know a lawyer in Puerto Viejo who we can trust ?
All the best lawyers are in San Jose – period! The best attorneys of any field are NOT in Puerto Viejo.
We have a section on this website called lawyers, laws and taxes at:

Scott
Scott is right. The lawyers in the small towns, just as doctors and dentists, are there for a reason: they are second rate at best.
OK, thanks… we will look for a good one in San Jose !
the problem here with lawyers is that you need to always hire 2
one to do the work and the 2nd one to check on the work of the first one
sometimes
and i mean sometimes
its even prudent you hire 3 :D:D:D:D:D:D:D
I would recommend Cordero & Cordero, http://www.corderoabogados.com. I am in the U.S. legal field, and was very impressed with the lawyers and firm. They have a office in San Jose, and several other offices throughout CR. The partner in the firm initiated my CR bank account and corporation in two days, and home inspection, assessment, title checks etc., and home closing in two weeks.
We have a couple decent notaries/attorneys in Tilaran, for those who want to buy property in the Arenal area. No need to hire 2 or 3. Off course we also work with attorneys from San Jose.
