Hi there folks, I am looking to furnish two units.
I am desiring tasteful decor with a local touch. I have been told Sarchi is the place to go.
Could anyone give me a ballpark figure for costs to furnish the following:
1. 1,600 sq ft, 3 bedroom bungalow.
2. 1,425 sq ft, 2 bedroom bungalow.
You can see Handmade Furniture in Costa Rica – Sarchi is a good place to go… at [ https://www.welovecostarica.com/members/842.cfm ]
Must admit though the last time I was up there, the prices appear to have increased quite a bit …

The only meaningful answer you’ll get is the one you generate. Prices in Sarchi vary somewhat. The totals will be determined by how much shopping (and bargaining) you do, by what you invest in bedding, and by what you invest in upholstered furniture.
You should be aware that there are sources of furniture in the San Jose area that are distinctly unSarchilike, too, and higher-priced.
Here’s some other places to look; I too found having furniture made to be variable.

If you’re into bamboo there is a bamboo factory outside of San Isidro de General that makes furniture at amazingly low prices. Quality is not top notch, but not bad.
