We had a window rep. here yesterday and we were discussing the benefits of these ‘films’.
Just be sure that the windows are not easily ’jimmied' or you are defeating your objective…
You’re absolutely right, crf. The window films will reject UV, secure the glass in place, and (if thick enough) prevent breakage. The window frames, however, are an entirely different matter.
Consider, too, the design of the windows. “Hopper” windows that open inward (in the manner of typical American basement windows) are very difficult to enter from outside. If they’re sturdily built, they should provide a high level of security. Other window designs are much more easily defeated.
Do you think that it is safer to live in a gated community?
Do you need security system or iron bars on windows, doors
if you live in a gated community?
We live on a one acre property without a gate and no bars on the windows or doors.
We were robbed of some small items the first month we were here. My wife likes to care for animals and dogs started showing up that needed a home and vet care. They number four now from 30 to 85 pounds.
