General Cañas Highway closing

The General Cañas Highway (the highway from the airport into San José) will be closed from 10 pm to 5 am in both directions until year end.

Thank goodness I rarely use that road at night …

Thank goodness they’ve realized that working at night to avoid interrupting one of the busiest stretches of road in the entire country is actually – Duh! – a very good idea… Vamos a ver!

So will it be the Chinese fixing it? 🙄

I can’t imagine the Ticos wanting to work at night?

I am sure there won’t be adequate signs to help tourists arriving on late flights who need to get to a hotel in Sabanna (near the new stadium) for example. Can someone describe how one would drive there?
I bet the rental of GPS devices at the car rental agencies will go up dramatically when all of this kicks in!!

There is an alternate route that would bypass the entire highway from Juan Santamaria airport to Sabana.
