I have heard a lot of comments about tours and transfers in costa rica..and i think now… since we live or want to live here we should help the ticos to become more productive and help them to help us while we are looking for properties, tours , transfers , etc..
Last year i came and use a wonderful guide which took me all around the city and tour me on the beaches and volcanoes ..his name is jonathan sedo.. he started a small busniness couple years ago , he is a certified tour guide by the ICT ( costarican tourism institute ,,i think ) and works together with real estate agents , for real estate tours .also he has all kind of connections with many guides around the country so you will be able to see more and more from different parts of the country .
also i have used many travel agencies as swiss travel, interbus, and fantasy tours ,, i can not complain about it ..good and reliable service..but why not help the small companies , the costarican people and become and active part of this beautiful country .
i have nothing against the big companies ,,i just want costa rica to become more and more my country , my home, my neighborhood my home!!
instead of renting a car and driving ourselves, hire a local to be your local guide. It could be the best decision ever made.
Jonathan Sedo was fabulous and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to my closest family and friends.
He was knowledgeable, punctual, safe and an all around great guy.
also if you know more guides like jonathan i would appreciate if you let me know about them..
nicola !!
I’d like to recommend a driver/guide named Wilson Rojas (info@greenadventure.net). Wilson took me on a few tours on my recent trip to Costa Rica; he was extremely helpful, friendly, punctual, and knowledgeable about birds and wildlife. I went on something of a photographic tour, and Wilson was always spotting birds for me to photograph. I ended up adopting a stray dog from Costa Rica and bringing her back to Canada. Wilson was overwhelmingly helpful with the arrangements, and quite indispensible since I don’t speak Spanish. I can’t say enough good things about him. He was more than a driver or a guide; he became my friend. Believe me, Wilson loves what he does and it shows!
