I am looking to ship down a Infiniti I30 and QX4 down. I am trying to find out the taxes and on the web site it doesn’t show any info.
Depends how old and it is expensive regardless. 3 y.o. or less seems to be the least exepnsive, but that is relative…big bucks until they pass a law exempting “resident” auto tariffs, which could take years at best. Search auto tariffs on this forum.
What they need to do is open the doors so you don’t have to use a importer. Just pay the taxes! On the goverment web site it only shows the transactions but does not give you the amount of estimated for your car. We called the Hensia but they said we have to go thru the importers and they will give us the amount. So we will probebly have to do it the old fasion way. Ask the brother in-laws.
Search for the shipping articles written by Arden Brink on this site and contact her for information about these costs. Arden will look after you.
I concur with hugofeliz. You can also find information in regard to this matter at http://www.therealcostarica.com. I am in a similar situation with my Toyota 4Runner V8 Sport Edition. From what I have gathered, in my case, the import duty would be approximately $15,000.
