Disease and climate change bode ill for coffee [and the former is partly a result of the latter].

….and the more climate changes, the less strident are the deniers.

This could be devastating for Costa Rica but of course it will be devastating for everybody …

Since you have a solid scientific background, would you consider giving us an article to help show the “deniers” out there how real this is … ?

Lets hope that Monsanto is working on a solution to the leaf rust issue and will also work on developing plants that can deal with climate issues. The climate has changed in the past and will probably continue to change. Geological time is far to vast, human time is short.

Not surprisingly, Starbuck’s has ‘a plan’, partly rational, partly P.R. mush – and not surprisingly, not a mention of price increases:

But global change is just that – global. So you can expect to lighten your moneybag across the board. Perhaps we need another Chixulub.

Dear Victoria, you may consume as much GMO and otherwise manipulated food as you want, but many people do not. Therefore we better work on being nice to our environment and slow down the climate change caused by pollution etc. to avoid the creation of any GMO / artificial food product that can deal with climate and other changes caused by modern humane lifestyle.
