Maravilla, do you or would you use the Caja?

Here is the link to a bad caja experience documented, amcostarica.com/070711.htm#31. However i must add that there are also positive Caja experience in the same online newspaper. So which is it? Good or bad? Niether. Like all of life you make your bet and take your chance.

My bet is not with the Caja. Other may be with the Caja. On a bad day the best hospital gets it wrong. On a good day the Caja gets it right.

Sooo.. we all have to place our bets. How many expats here will use the Caja? I pay for it I would like to get a benifit for paying monthly… but I just feel that being the only american in the room is wierd.

I have also experienced a lot of ethnocentric behavior and financial envy here.

Now wait a second. Ihave also experienced some wondeful relationships here, so don’t go thinking I am anti costa rica. I still live here don’t I? so if you added it all up I chose to stay.

I just don’t see the Caja system as a perk.I see the weather and the warm ocean and my neighborhood resturant and mt expat buddies and my Tico neighbors (some of them anyways) as a perk. I see lower cost of living as a perk, and traditional lifestyles as a perk. I see low wages as a perk (but I must say I perfer Nica labor). They woek harder talk less and are not as clever (on the divious side) and not ethnocentric.

Also if you are single and want to play its great here. But if you want to mary I would not recommend it (again there are always exceptions and this is my opining only).

That said there are many perks here I just don’t fid the caja to be one and i would not advertise costa rica as a place with cheap reliable health care, but then again it all relative as in compared to what other health care system.

I wanted to just say that you are one of the very few people that actually can write in a very real objective and pragmatic manner.

NOT negative or positive but a very real and well balanced view based on experience without any hidden agendas or preconceived values.

You have to have an agenda to start a blog right. What would my agenda be. Trying to get peoples attention, and then make them think seems to rub people wrong. Most think you have to agree to have anything in common. People are so thin skinED and full of precived self importance that they become unrealistic in thier world views. Its the world according to thier percived reality, not to a broader reality.

I try to be real in a broad sense but you are one of the few that appreciate it or at least take the time to express it.

I have had great mentors in my life and theye were not gifts. I had to seek them. One great mentor told me that you get more of what you appreciate. So you have to not only appreciate things in your head, but you have to express that appreciation.

People are so worried about offending people because of the Oh I am offended card that they dont want to communicate anymore. Its like writing here. People really belive this internet thing is a relationship like sitting in front of someone and speaking in their prescence. Its s fricking screen and a keyboard. Get real.

You are having a relationship with a machine. So are you going to let the machine flatter or offend you. Its a machine who really cares yet people attach all kinds of signifigance to it as if all this crap is so important, and they actually get offended or complimented. There is a huge difference between writing something on line and saying it to someone infront of them. Many little two faced cowards hide behind their machine and assasinate good peole character. There is a rather well known Costa Rica personality that uses fake names to assasinate his percivied competitors character. He uses email handles like rolli muzak and Isabel alvarez. I checked his IP adresses and found out who he is but that another story. Scott understands about this kind of thing. As Eienstien said great souls are ridiculed by mediocre minds 000 something like that anyways.

Can you learn fromm a computer. Yes. If your are astute you can learn from anything. Is it a human relationship. Hell no. Its a realionship with a machine and it furthers peoples percived self importance and that is why you get skewed opinions that are based on self perception rather than perciving the world at large, or what is outside of you rather than what is inside of you.
