Sue and Chris, A quick note about our experience with Health Insurance after our big event. I had a quadruple by-pass in 1993. At that time the complany I was working for had great insurance coverage and they paid every dime ($600,000.00+). When I retired from the company in 2000 and COBRA coverage lapsed I was turned down by every insurance company I applied to. They did not offer any exclusions or restrictions, they just flatly refused to cover me. I had to get “Risk Pool Health Insurance” provided by the state (Texas in my case). In order for the coverage to continue I must remain a resident of the state. In short you may want to check with your present insurance company to make sure if you cancell your policy now they will let you back in later. Hope this helps.

By the way, we are planning on moving to CR as soon as possible regardless of the insurance issues. The “Pure Vida” life style there is much more condusive to a longer life than it is here in the US. Do not get me wrong, I love the US and it will always be home.
