Scott
congratulations on an excellent article.
you fall in the category of seeing things the way they are then making informed strategic moves as opposed to
hoping things get better
or wishing things ere differently
or thanking god that we are protected by our government pensions and social security
or even worse this deluded thinking that the government will fix everything.
it truly amazes me how obtuse people are in the general population.
as you are aware of with the recent shootings that occurred
and you have hollywood that actually put this stuff out there so detached that they themselves are part of the gun violence in todays america.
but it’s ok since this is how they get paid.
does anyone else see the hypocrisy in this???
there is only one reason and one reason only Hollywood has these kinds of films
because they make money.
I have sat thru plenty of movies that such violent scenes were not truly necessary
but were put in regardless
then they band together and create this propaganda

David the reason the housing problem started is that people were willing to pay more for a house than it cost to build it.
We bought our home in California in 1998 at the price that it would have cost to build it and sold it in 2006 at three times that price. At the time we sold the market had already dropped by 20% and I could not see it coming back.
It allowed us to pay cash for our home in Costa Rica.
Those who thought they were buying an investment got the shaft because they did not know either
(A) what they were doing or
(B) did not think about the consequences.
What is the difference between obtuse and stupid?January 1, 2013 at 10:03 pm #204223spriteMemberHow is this for a solution?
Turn the tables on the banks. Take out a home equity loan on your USA house for as much as a bank will “lend”. Use that money to buy a property in Cost Rica. Immediately stop paying the new mortgage and property taxes on your USA house while living there for the two or three years it takes for a foreclosure to be completed*. (depending upon the state you are in) The bank will pay the property taxes for this period. Save that mortgage and tax money for use later on in Costa Rica.
You are essentially trading your USA house and your good credit rating for a Costa Rican house with enough cash so that good credit does not matter for the time it takes to re-establish it.January 2, 2013 at 10:09 am #204224daviddMembergood plan :D:D
