I am new here and have really enjoyed reading all of the posts.
I am trying to research a S.A. in the national registry. I have learned here that the most important item in the registry is the title or “escritura”. Then there is the plano which may show differnt owners.bounderies etc.
I was able to navigate my way through the registry and found info on the plano, finca numbers and using the corporation name and cedula. I know only alittle bit of Spanish and so I’m not sure if I have found the actual “escritura” or title or deed. I found a form that shows all of the information on Owner, location, dimensions, plano number, and more. It also says Valor, Anotaciones, Gravamenes. Is this the title?
The square meters on this are somewhat different than the plano. Does that not matter?
If I sound confused, I am, any help would be great! This is my Dad’s farm and he recently had it put into a corporation and I am following up on it in the register to be sure everything is there . Thank you.

You’re asking a question that everyone except an attorney is afraid to answer. These questions should be addressed to a qualified Costa Rica attorney.

Although we do have attorneys that occasionally visit the forum, they do not tend to give legal advice for free…

If you want an attorney to do a basic title search for you for only $99 (I certainly do not know anyone that can do it cheaper), you might want to see [ https://www.welovecostarica.com/public/85.cfm ]
