Help with Spanish

What is used in Costa Rica for:

1. [u]tool shed[/u] (meaning about 18 x 12 cabin with door and window)?; and
2. What Spanish description is used to describe the latticed upright open roofs used to protect garden crops from the heavy rains. Sometime I recall you can see them with white covering in the really hot season.

I hope this makes sense, if not please ask me questions.

Well, my Apple translator app sez that a tool shed is a

[i]vertiente de la herramienta[/i]

and an open roof is a

[i]tejado abierto[/i]

A tool shed for you is like a “Bodega” to a tico.

“Bodega” is a Spanish word for storage and was used originally for storing vine.
