To be quick and to the point.
Has anyone found a way to insure the contents of your home ??
I am mostly concerned with fire and earthquate coverage.
Theft would also be nice, but I understand that it is almost
impossible to get.
I have been told by someone at INS. that it’s not even worth
having the coverage since filing a claim is also next to impossible,
and in the end you will get hardly anything for what you lost.
Thanks for your help
Dave
INS is the only source of homeowner’s insurance, including contents coverage, in Costa Rica. To obtain contents coverage, all doors and windows must be secured with metal bars. The policy coverage specifically excludes money, jewelery, and all electronics (TVs, stereos, computers, cameras, etc) — all the stuff that burglars really want.
