… because we sent a friend from Oregon there ten days ago. Robin needed an emergency hysterectomy but had no insurance coverage. She checked hospitals around Oregon and the very minimum price offered was $15,000 and that did not even cover everything. Then she wrote to me. I did some searching and we came up with Doctor Adam Paer who was born in New York and of course speaks perfect English. Together we decided on Hospital Metropolitano for the operation at $2000 less than CIMA. The final cost was $4,000. This is approximately 25% of the cost of the cheapest hospital in Oregon.Additionally her mother was aloud to sleep in her room after the operation. The results were more than satisfactory. By the next day the pain was gone and she was so relieved at the quality of the hospital and doctor and the low cost.
yes. its true it is a very good hospital and reasonable. but alas now that people become more aware of it like americans. they may morph into something like cima and the rest of the private hospitals.
it reminds me of the movie cocoon when word got out of that life rejuvenating pool. all the people came and ruined everything.
already prices are escalating here and I am amazed how average ticos live.

I don’t think so…
Dr. Roberto Herrera the Hospital Director (in the photo attached with yours truly) and his investors (from the Durman family) have pretty specific goals about their business and who they are trying to serve and at the present time, these do NOT include jumping into the same market that CIMA is targetting…
