I am considering staying a couple of day at the Hotel Dunn Inn in San Jose. Looking for anyone with experiences good or bad? Any other recommendations for a 2-day stay prior to returning to the states?
Thanks
I stayed there and left after 1 night. The rooms are very old and dingy. Location is right across the street from the Clarion. Not worth the $40 or so they ask for.
Watch out for the Trannie at night
Try the “Jade” Hotel not in town but wonderful. http://www.hotelboutiquejade.com
Sounds like it might be that the Hotel is “Done In.” We stayed at the Hotel Villa Bonita in Alajuela, hosted by Humberto and Carmen. Two wonderful people who really will make your stay feel as though you were at home. About $50 a night. The nice thing is the five minute ride to Juan Santamaria from there.

We have stayed at the Dunn Inn many times. It is old, charming, safe, and they provide a good full service. Convenient to downtown shopping and we never had a problem. We enjoy staying there and often run into friends who live in various parts of Costa Rica who also stay there when shopping or visiting over night. We will stay there again and continue to refer them to others.
