President Oscar Arias signed the New Immigration bill today at Casa Presidencial. This means the clock is about to start ticking as it will probably appear in La Gaceta either Friday or Monday. Those who are wondering whether to apply for residency now or wait a little… should start the process now, as you basically have 6 months to get it started before the new law comes into effect.

For those families with more than 2 people that want to become residents under “rentista”, it would be more beneficial to wait until the new law is in effect.
