Can anyone tell me what the import fees/taxes/duties would be for a 2002 Kawasaki KLR 250 from the U.S.? I can’t seem to make the CarTica AutoValor site work for a motorcycle since many of the choices relate only to cars. Would it be based on the CR “book” value, or just on displacement?
Thanks.
John
I believe there is no duty on motorcycles when bringing them into the country. I may be wrong, but seem to remember that being mentioned somewhere I’ve been reading… Hopefully someone else will confirm this too

Have you asked Arden? She ships cars and motorcycles into Costa Rica all the time …

Yes, there is DEFINITELY duty on motorcycles, although it is true that the percentage(s) are different (and a bit less) than on cars. If you follow Scott’s suggestion and send me an email, I can certainly tell you more!
Thanks.
