After a year and a half of planning and getting numerous paperworks I was just informed by the vet helping me in Costa Rica that the door is absolutely closed to birds. This happened 3 days ago and even though our paperwork was in the works; no deal. Has anyone else heard this? I often hear of Costa Rican laws that may or may not be? Thanks for your input, we were planning our permanent move down on Monday an this is really something we hadn’t planned on.
Thanks,
Cindy
Hello cindyc,
No, I have not heared of this before. Is this avian flue related? What kind of bird do you have? We are planning to move to Costa Rica next year, and are planning on taking our 3 parrots. I could never leave them behind. They are my family. Have you checked with Cites and Dept. of Fish & Wildlife? These are the only authorities that might have some information on this, but you probably already know this. Please keep me in the loop.
Best of Luck – Buena suerte!
Patricia
