We had a substantial deposit for a unit in a large condo project for the past two years. Besides the fact we “had” the deposit (which has now been spent by the developer during construction…), we have now been told the project, along with 22 others (both condos and private homes) in the area has been halted by a “government mandate” due to proximity within 500 meters of the Playa Grande turtle nesting estuary area.
I have been unable to find any references or news links on this recent turn of events.
Can anyone steer me to any reliable information on this? Thanks.
We’ll be featuring an article about some of the problems with Tamarindo projects in the next week or so ….

Scott, was there ever an article featured here on Tamarindo projects? If so, I’d greatly appreciate keywords to search on, or some link. Thanks much!!
Our Recommended Realtor had promised me an article but she got tied up with having a baby… 🙄 I’ll try and see where she stands with that for you.
Here is a link to AM Costa Rica about this ruling.
