is there somebody out there that has dealt with a company called ‘exclusive costa rica’? they started as a marketing company here and are now a “start-up development company”. they have a geat web site but i am not sure their information is reliable and am leary to deal with them.

Apart from “front end” websites, would strongly urge you to be aware of any stage of business or legal dealings in Costa Rica – that includes the “trusted lawyer” formalising any transaction. Anything from the mouth of a realtor carries no weight since my dog can be a realtor here and, overall, is probably more trustworthy.
That said, there are honorable people in both real estate and the legal profession, but sometimes it is very hard to establish one from the other – infestation has a habit of coming out of the woodwork over time and with amazing regularity.
Just be “aware” and have documentation for everything!

Hi. I have spoke with them in the past when they where a Marketing Company. They failed at this venture. They took on too many projects and didn’t deliver. I don’t know how they will prevail as a developer. I would personally like to seem them complete something before taking the risk.
I’ve never worked with them, but from what I’ve heard they offer a turn-key sales and marketing solution for new real estate projects. They had several high quality projects in inventory but I cannot speak of how successful they were at this. If they didn’t do well in Marketing and Sales, I doubt they will do well as a developer unless they work with the right real estate agents. 😉
