There’s a company based in Costa Rica who sells prepaid access to international calling. They have an account at Banco Nacional and their charge is $.06 per minute.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? If yes, do you have their phone number?
Thanks!
Don’t know them David – Use Googlephone for .02 cents per minute…
This is a kind of unusual situation, Scott.
I think I know that the company name is Hacapike, SA. At least that’s what comes up when you look at their account number at Banco Nacional.
we use magic jack. If the number is in the states then u use a prefix for your area code from there. then use it in costa rica. Our kids call us all the time. they have an international plan but I cant remember what the charge is. When we go back to the states we take our magic jack with us. It works great as long as the internet signal strength is good, I guess they have a way to use a cell now.
Thank you, Barbara Ann. We have a MagicJack too. And it works just fine.
The problem here is that the folks currently staying in our guest house need to communicate daily with her mother in Great Britain. She brought a new Samsung smart phone from Britain when she arrived but she cannot get the Skype app that she wants to load onto the phone, so she needs another means to talk to her elderly mother. The prepaid service I’m trying to locate meets this need.
With a MagicJack, I’ve had no need to explore Google phone or Skype.
