I said that as far as I am concerned this thread was closed once the rabid anti-semetic hatred started. The thread started with someone asking how many Jews are in Costa Rica and then a few friendly people added their own comments. But now the party is over as far as I am concerned. We were all using good manners and common sense. But now that has changed. Of course I could answer his accusations. But I will not. Jews are no more perfect than any other race. But I believe they have a right to exist on that tiny piece of land that the Bible says God gave to them. On that little piece of land they say – No, we will not walk wordlessly into the gas chambers again. If you want us this time come and get us. But this time we are prepared with nuclear weapons. We will not use them unless our backs are against the wall. But just be warned. Never again!
Jews have lived in the Promised Land for more than 3000 years. Palestinians are not of any particular ethnic background. They came from many countries to try to occupy Israel at a time when most Jews had been deported from their homeland. But there was always a remnant of Jews there so nobody can possibly say that the Jews “occupied” the land. Now tiny Israel is surrounded by enemy nations. 5 million Jews surrounded by 1.3 billion enemies. Who wouldn’t arm themselves with the best protection money can buy? And now the United States Government has supervised the division of the land and handed it over to the people whose aim is to wipe out every Jew from the face of the earth. Shame on America!
I could answer every one his hate-filled suedo facts but this is not the place to do it. This website is, as someone else said, “We loveCosta Rica.” Let’s keep it to that. But Scott we can certainly talk privately if you want to know more.
There is one thing that the Israelis have against Moses. He took them 40 years through the desert in order to bring them to the one spot in the Middle East that has no oil. ( I stole that from Golda Meir, whom Bradbard may have contempt for.) But, it is interesting how every country surrounding them wants them gone. I believe it is out of envy.
The Jews are the chosen people. Some just don’t like that fact… and it is a fact.
God blesses those who bless Israel. That is not my opinion but biblical, so don’t get mad at me for saying it, and I am not a Jew. But I do love the King of the Jews.
The Bible also regulates and approves of slavery (Leviticus) which includes such niceties as; setting certain slaves free after 10 years but keeping there wives and children if it pleases you. This is in the Bible(along with many other fun “facts” google leviticus and slavery)…and that is “fact”. The Bible is no better or worse than any other doctrine, if we are to evolve as a species we need to grow beyond doctrines that “choose people” and serve to divide us. So if we disavow slavery and say stoning one to death, then what we are saying is that the Bible may not be perfect…Regarding Israel I think Brad is just being himself as his criticisms of the US have been equally harsh. I don’t see this as anti-semitism as he does not appear to hate Jews for being Jews but has a strong dislike of the Israeli governments policy. He would not be alone on that, one could site many such criticisms from Noam Chompsky or Howard Zinn both “Jewish” scholars as well as many others. To simply dismiss anyone that critiques Israel as anti-semites is unfair.

Two things……..Not all Jews are Iraelis, and not all Israelis are Jews.
Just like not all white people were running apartheid in South Africa, not all black people are ruling Zimbabwe, and not all Latino people are ruling Cuba.
I take offense, as a Jew (by heritage, not so much by religion) that many people in this thread are “telling” the rest of us what Jews are, what we are doing, and what is right or wrong with us.
Both sides are ridiculous, and I again take offense that either side feels like they are serving ANY kind of dialog that will bring about ANYTHING positive. If you are not trying to influence a positive result, as in having people agree with you and cause change towards what you feel is right, then why put all this energy, albeit hateful, into this?
Not only is this site not the place for this, but I will go so far to say that this world is not the place for such small mindedness.
Yes, the Israeli situation is a horrendous one, and there seems to be no side that has all, if any, of the answers that will end the nightmare that has surrounded the region, but again, if either side that we see in this thread really, and I mean REALLY cares enough about the subject, they wouldn’t just be slinging negative words around in discussion forums, they would be out there figuring out how to effect a positive change, and if a positive change is not what you are after, then I don’t see what use I, or anyone else, has for you at this time.I have missed you guys. I am no sympathizer with Israel. The Israeli government has been behaving and is behaving just as badly as many other governments.
And religious Jews are no better than any of the other silly and destructive religious faiths…and they are ALL silly and destructive. But I have no stake in that conflict over there. As far as I am concerned, both sides can bury each other with their stupidity.
But we are talking about Costa Rica here.
I guess I miss read the essence of this thread which is titled “Jews In Costa Rica”. I immediately thought of my Israeli friends in Costa Rica. They may or may not be Jews in the religious sense of the word. But they have formed a close knit group of like minded people who have found a way, so far as I know, to live peacefully in Costa Rica. what impresses me is that they,none of them judged me for the big loco gringo I am.they took me on my word,my behaviors and actions.
