Once I’m legal, I’ll bring my AK-47 and everything else down, I just need to know what the import rules are on ammo (i’ll make sure to research this)………I have several hundred rounds of 7.62, 30-30, 9mm, and .22.

I SERIOUSLY want a Barrett (made here locally) in 50 cal. and the newest one, which I’m not sure is even out yet, a 25mm…OMG, what a noise!

I’d hate to have to leave it all in storage here

    Wow Scott, thanks once again.

Is there any provision for full-auto weapons, or limitations on weapons considered “Assault” weapons like the sissy’s in the US Congress have placed limits or some sort of stigma on?

And finally, are weapons overly high-priced, or ammo in limited supply in any way?

I made my reasons clear before, but much like you, and for having been in Law Enforcement at one time, I just feel “naked” without some sort of protection for me and my family, and THEN you add the hobbyist component…….

Can’t wait to meet you all!

Something just occurred to me to ask….boy am I SLOW this week.

Here goes: I have a CCW in the US. Is any weight or consideration given in CR for having a US Concealed Carry Permit?

    I know…probably a doofus question, but I had to ask……

    Scott,

Thanks for the insight, and the very informative new article you recently posted. The AK47 is an excellent weapon, carried one as a secondary weapon, it really confused the enemy when they heard the AK47 and a Thompson firing down-range, within the same firing range span.

I had an interesting and extremely disturbing conversation with my favourite armourer today…

We’re trying to clarify the details but, it would appear that it’s going to be tougher than ever to get permission to carry a concealed weapon and, it’s going to be tougher than ever – bordering on bloody impossible – to renew your permission to carry a gun.

Will report back when we have more solid information.

WONDERFUL….is there any word on any adverse effect on just plain ownership?

Not being able to carry is pretty damned “adverse” in my book… And if they’re clamping down that hard on carrying no doubt it will be much tougher on “plain ownership” in any form…

Thanks Scott….Tell them that if they don’t relent, we “Baby Boomers” they value so much might just stay home……..LOL

But seriously….WTH are they thinking? Is this new President behind this or what?

    ….And I just got a new AK-47 too.

A Tico friend went on Monday to get his carry permit. Never mentioned there could be some problems.

Hi, I was at the range that Scott talks about a few weeks ago. Checking on a concealled carry permit. As of December 09 you need to be a Permeant Resisdent. You can not even buy a gun under a corp to protect your home. So you need to leave your guns at home. If you bring them here the Costa Rica Customs will keep them until you can get the permeant resisdent. I also believe that I read that you can not have a fully auto weapon and nothing larger then a 45. And with Laura being the new President I do not expect that to change, even though the gun store owners here are in court trying to change that. Ron USCG Ret and Fed Drug Officer
