Has anybody had any experience at all with a member or friend that was Mexican at birth immigrating to CR? My wife is a US citizen but born in Mexico. Even with all the information provided by ARCR and other sites we keep running in to walls. My wife has her (original) birth certificate just recently obtained from Tijuana. It’s getting it legalized and then authenticated that is the problem. We keep getting pointed in different directions. We now believe we have to go to (or hire someone in) Mexicali Mx. (maybe Tiuana) to get it [b]legalized[/b] but this has not been confirmed. Then we send it to Mexico City for [b]authentication[/b], but for this part there is no information any where on how to pay for this service. Does anybody know someone (Mexican) that legaly moved to CR and applied for pensionado? Does anyone have any input on this subject.Your help is greatly appreciated since we are on a hard date to move in Jan. My documents and all others (marriage cert., police record, etc) under control.Thx!

Have you tried the nearest Mexican consulate?

Yes, in Los Angelas. It has to be done in Mexico. We live in San Diego so we may have to drive down for the 1st part but we dont want to go to Mexico City (CR Consulate) for the authentication part.

Let me clarify. She was born in Tijuana MX but is a US citizen. CR does not accept an apostile, instead they need to have her BC legalized which must be done in the state of Mex she was born. Then sent to the CR embassy for authentication. We cannot find info on how to complete this process including how much $ to send to the embassy for their processing.
