We are starting to get serious about a real estate purchase west of Daniel Oduber airport. Can someone give some good references to a legal firm within the Liberia to Tamarindo area?
I would think we would want a local firm when we live their for a variety of services, but maybe more experienced people will tell me that they normally work with firms out of San Jose.
Your view on this would be greatly appreciated.

And yes! You’re correct in assuming that the best attorneys are located in San Jose.
At one time the major law firms had satellite offices near the beach areas but many of those have been closed since the number of transactions – especially on the Pacific coast – have declined..

We have used for our purchases Juan A. Casafont and his partners for all our legal representation in purchasing and maintaining our corporations. Fluent in English and good service over the past five years keeps us loyal. Our friends have also used Juan’s firm and have been happy with the results. They have an office in Coco, and one in San Jose as well as Panama City. They recently closed the one in Hermosa. I am attaching the info below.
Personally we have been very happy with Juan and I have recommended him to others and family.

I have studied this page, but I don’t see how this would help me.
There are about 3-4 attorneys quoted in the body of the text. Most seem to be San Jose oriented.
I don’t see any of the publications speaking to references. They all appear to be law oriented.

San Jose 506-2258-2525, Liberia 506-2667-4242, http://www.corderoabogados.com. I highly recommend this attorney and this firm for your consideration. We received excellent, professional and prompt legal services. Amazingly, this attorney responded to all our emails within half an hour, I am in the legal profession, and I find that difficult to achieve. In addition, this attorney opened our bank account, created a corporation, researched property matters and represented us proxy during our closing. He accomplished much of our legal requirements, within three days; while we were on vacation in Costa Rica. The fees for his services were very reasonable.
