Home › Forums › Costa Rica Living Forum › Looking fo an accountant that can help me
Hello,
I recently purchased some property in Costa Rica, and I am looking for some help in deciding what would be the best way to document this, in reference to my taxes. I am a US citizen and live in the US, and want to make sure I am going about this the best way for me now and in the future. I have an accountant but she is a little confused about an out of country purchase.
I have heard, I cannot mention the property and the future profits will not be taxed, due to any knowledge. But then I would get no tax break now.
I also have been told if I mention the property now, I can get the tax break, but will have to pay the taxes in the future for the profit on the properties.
Any help would be great, and if there is a good accountant that anyone knows that would have good knowledge of what to do, I would appreciate it. Thanks
